Live and Local Program Coordinator

APRA AMCOS is seeking a results-focused and innovative program coordinator to support the Live and Local program, preferably based in the Sydney or Melbourne office.  The role is fixed-term full time but would consider part time for candidates with the right skills and experience.

The program coordinator supports consistent regulation and strategic policy development for live music across the local government sector and will work with local stakeholders to demonstrate a sustainable long-term model for growth of live music activity in grassroots communities.

Reporting into the Live and Local Manager, Live Music Office you will support the delivery of the Live and Local program in partnership with Local Councils across Australia.

 

The ideal candidate will support the program by delivering on the following key duties & responsibilities:

  • Lead communication and council engagement
  • Participate in EOI briefing process
  • Communicate with successful and unsuccessful applicants
  • Execute funding agreements for and process invoices from participating local councils
  • Attend regular WIPs with Program Manager
  • Collaborate with councils and local stakeholders on program timelines and key dates
  • Provide program management support to councils to lead and deliver Key Program Deliverables and Associated Activities
  • Facilitate regular WIPs with each council partner as well as group networking sessions 
  • Attend site visits with local stakeholders
  • Participate in local working group meetings
  • Attend micro-festival events, professional development events and local industry forums
  • Coordinate University Research Team deliverables with each council partner
  • Review council project budgets, programs and marketing materials
  • Support local stakeholders reporting and evaluation processes

Skills & Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in project management, live music events and government relations
  • Have experience and/or interest in the principles of live music advocacy and government regulation and strategic policy development across local, state and federal government levels. 
  • Capable of planning, delivering and reporting on all aspects of the Live and Local project
  • Experience with coordinating multiple project partners, stakeholders, budgets and timelines
  • Possess high level written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write briefing notes and reports for project partners
  • Understanding of the principles of live music including artist touring, booking, venue development, production knowledge, regulatory experience, marketing and social media.
  • Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel and Word, social media platforms, Zoom and/or Microsoft Teams  
  • Is an excellent face-to-face and telephone communicator
  • Demonstratable experience and success in managing projects, budgets and outcomes.
  • Live Music Experience (Desirable not essential)
