Celebrating the life and vibrancy of indigenous cultures all over Australia, Song Nation Vol. 1 will launch just in time for NAIDOC Week 2014.

Song Nation Vol. 1 is a compilation of hip hop from ten different indigenous commuities. It aims to build a dialogue around social changefor young indigenous people.

The album is a project from Desert Plea Media, which provides opportunites in the arts to young indigenous people including songwriting workshops. Recieving cultural direction from Aunty Gail Mabo(Eddie Mabo’s daughter), Song Nation Vol. 1 marks an exciting time for hip hop and indigenous culture alike.
