Ay, carumba! The iconic voice of Bart Simpson, Nancy Cartwright, has cancelled her scheduled appearance this week at the Supanova Pop Culture Expo.

An apparent notice from The Simpsons’ casting director has seen Cartwright pull out of her Australian visit to return to work. She said in a statement to Supanova:

“I am so disappointed that I cannot visit with my fabulous fans down under this time! I so thank you for your invitation and for your very kind consideration of me. Hopefully, we will be able to plan another Australian event for my participation in the near future.

“Please give my warmest and best wishes to Bart’s fans!”

And in a very Simpsons-worthy piece of comic timing, you can read an interview with Cartwright in this week’s issue of the BRAG, which went to print before news of the cancellation. D’oh!

Supanova 2015 will go ahead at the Sydney Showgrounds, Olympic Park from Friday June 19 – Sunday June 21. Guests include Nathan Fillion, Jason Isaacs, Elizabeth Henstridge, Bonnie Wright and many more.
