A week-long theatrical process will culminate in a one-off performance next week.

The latest Rough Draft from Sydney Theatre Company will focus on the theme of domestic violence. The process, which culminates with a staging of a new play, gives aspiring artists an opportunity to develop themselves professionally as they are given support, rehearsal space and advice to develop a production.

Lethal Indifference will be the work of playwright Anna Barnes, who won the 2010 Patrick White Award, and actor Emily Barclay. Together they have been working with STC’s new artistic director, Kip Williams.

The story will focus on a worker in a family centre and questions the world we are in today, in which many women are failed by the systems that are supposed to protect them.

Watch the week’s work on Friday November 18 at Wharf 2, Pier 4/5, Hickson Road.
