It hasn’t been long since Google Pixel’s release in 2018 and Google are already parading their new innovative technology.

The Pixel 3 was a major step up in quality for phones, with one of the most superior cameras on the market, and performance that made other brands look like snails.

It goes without saying that the phone has come a long way since its first-generation release in 2016, when everyone was mocking the idea of a ‘Google phone’.

Now, Google has dropped a small teaser revealing some of the new features coming to their Pixel 4. The tech has two new features: motion sense and face unlock, allowing for ease of access without ever having to touch the phone.

Check out the new tech showcased in this brief trailer here:

The video shows users being able to control phone applications through simple gestures, for example skipping through music and potentially other applications.

We don’t yet know the full extent of how this will be implemented, or what other functions it will be able to perform, but we are most definitely looking forward to finding out.

This information comes ahead of time before the annual product showcase, but it is information that we will gladly accept. The other feature showcased isn’t as exciting and comes in the form of facial recognition. Many phones have already adapted similar technology and Google Pixel 4 seems to be using IR cameras to detect and unlock the phones. Nothing new to see here.

Although Google’s phone hasn’t been around for as long as the Samsungs or Apples, it is still a very real contender in the phone market that is worth keeping an eye on.

Currently, there is speculation of an October reveal date following the precedent of previous models announcements being around the same time. Not much is known about the tech of the Pixel 4, having only confirmed rear cameras, motion sense and face unlock, we are in pure anticipation of what is to come next.

So begins the slow drip of information and anticipation for the phone’s announcement. The phones features are slowly building up and it seems to be one of Google’s best contenders in the market to date.
