She’s been hailed as the next Dolly Parton, or the love child of Dolly Parton and Johnny Cash – we’re not sure which, but one thing that’s for certain is this little lady is gonna go far.

At her first show, only five people turned up. But Lindi Ortega’s come a long way since then, from being back-up vocalist for Brandon Flowers (The Killers) to a three-time JUNO Award-nominated musician (the JUNO Awards are like, the Canadian ARIAs, so yes, they’re a big deal).

Her latest albumTin Star was nominated for aJUNO Award in the category of Roots & Traditional Album: Solo, with the winners to be announced March 30. While Ortega is yet to pick up a JUNO, third time’s a charm, right?

Meet country’s newest sensation Lindi Ortega at Brighton Up Bar on Thursday April 24, with The Morrisons and Jep & Dep.
