The passing of the godfather of House, Frankie Knuckles, may have left a hole in many hearts, but what better way to honor his legacy than through a tribute dance night.

Responsible for many of the tracks that defined house in the ’80s, including ‘Your Love’, Frankie Knuckles was a pioneering and talented force in the dance music world who got his big break in Chicago at a club called Warehouse. Fans of his records started asking for the ‘house music’ Knuckles and his friends were playing, and a genre was born.

In tribute to Knuckles, Goodgod are putting on a night of Sydney-style house. DJs include Simon Caldwell, who has had over a decade at the decks and used his time to experiment across most styles imaginable, with house no exception to his enviable skill set. There will also be appearances from Magda Bytnerowicz (4our), Pelvis, Matt Vaughan (Loose Ends), Love’s Disciple and Long John (Paradise Lost).

Get down at Goodgod and pay tribute to one of the greats this Friday April 11, tickets at the door.
