Before the likes of Angus & Julia Stone, John Butler and The Waifs, there was Things of Stone & Wood.

Twenty-five years ago, a ragtag bunch of folkies got together and formed Things of Stone & Wood. They would later become one of Australia’s most beloved folk-rock bands.

Since breaking up in 1998, making up in 2001 and breaking up again in 2006, Things of Stone & Wood are now back on once more to play limited shows celebrating ‘Happy Birthday Helen’, a top 10 hit which set these fellows on a track of international success and a gold album. Oh, and a Late Showparody too.

Catch Things of Stone & Wood (before they’re off-again) at The Vanguard on Friday March 23 with support from Carus Thompson.
