Megan Washington is performing her forthcoming album, three nights in a row, at the Opera House next month. And that’s just the way it is.
We can only assume the new album, from which we’ve already heard the striking single ‘Saint Lo’, is going to be a grand affair, as she is employing the services of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra all three nights.
“It’s an absolute life highlight to be able to work with orchestras of this calibre”, Washington says of the shows. “When considering repertoire for these shows, it was very important to me that I focus on the future and present new work. I want to look musically forward, not back.
“Essentially these shows are decadent, extravagant album previews for my new record, which will be out next year. It’s going to be a sumptuous, romantic art party.”
