Back for its fifth year in action, absolute treat of a festival Mountain Sounds has got some very exciting news, announcing LA indie rock champs Grouplove as the first band on the 2018 lineup, and the news of an extra day of music, art and various other boutique festy fun.

Running from February 16 to 18 2018, the festival will once again take place at the picturesque Mount Penang Parklands in Kariong on NSW’s Central Coast, smack band between Sydney and Newcastle, the perfect place to camp for a few nights (with hot showers).

A new addition will be the Mountain Village, with local markets, silent discos, food and drinks, hair and makeup helpers, and it’s all looking like the biggest year so far for the festival, which has sold out the last three years off the back of some brilliant lineups.

Recent years have seen RÜFÜS, Dune Rats, Violent Soho, DMA’s, Sticky Fingers, Ball Park Music, Alison Wonderland, DZ Deathrays, Tkay Maidza and more play alongside international guests like The Strokes’ Albert Hammond Jr, and we’re sure the announcement of Grouplove is just the tip of the iceberg for this year’s five year celebration.

We’ll have to wait and see what gets revealed next Tuesday September 19, but until then check out the announcement vid below.
