Homeground, the two-day Sydney Opera House festival of First Nations culture, has announced a bumper program for its 2016 return.

The live music lineup will be led by Aboriginal rock band East Journey, comprising younger generation members of the Yothu Yindi musical clan. Brisbane’s Dubmarine will fill the dancefloor into the night, while the indigenous culture of New Zealand will be represented by Trinity Roots.

Homeground highlight Dance Rites will also be back at the festival this year, hosting a national indigenous dance competition in a specially made sand circle on the harbourfront.

There’ll also be an arts market, tours, food and workshops.
