1. The First Record I Bought

My first record was ‘…Baby One More Time’ by Britney Spears, I was about nine I think. Don’t ask me why, I have no idea – I would say it was because I wanted to have a go on her.

2. The Last Record I Bought

The last record I bought was a vinyl-only release from Enzo Siragusa and Alexkid; it’s called ‘Kilimanjaro’.

3. The First Thing I Recorded

My first recording was ‘Don’t Go’. It was written in Australia and released shortly after I returned to the UK after travelling here.

4. The Last Thing I Recorded

The last thing I recorded was the sixth track on my forthcoming debut album. It will be released on my imprint, Resonance Records, for the start of summer 2014. It was recorded in my studio in Essex, UK along with all the other tracks I have completed of late that will also feature on the album,

It will be a lot more melodic and musical, yet still dancefloor material – very classic electronic-sounding.

5. The Record That Changed My Life

The record that changed my life was ‘The Sky Was Pink’ (James Holden Remix) – it was written in 2004 and was originally written by Nathan Fake. It was released on a label called Border Community which has gathered some amazing electronic music over the years. The first time I heard the record, Damien Lazarus closed the Secret Garden Party festival with it – I don’t remember the year but it blew my mind! I often play this as my final track, and I will make sure I do when I’m in Sydney.

Max Chapman plays Start: Cruise 011 at Sydney Acquarium Wharf and After Party at Home Nightclub on Saturday November 30.
