They destroyed two sets of expensive headphones and a guitar head in the process, but Brisbane’s most explosive rockers Smoking Martha have finally finished their debut album, In Deep, and will be launching it at a Frankie’s Pizza show on Thursday, May 18.

“The songs in the album describe a series of unwanted feelings and circumstances that make us feel sometimes trapped but sometimes more passionate and therefore we get in so deep that it consumes us”, frontwoman Tasha D explains. “So deep that there is no other option than to dig deeper and push harder, no matter the outcome.”

“It was an intense but relaxed vibe”, guitarist Mick Broome continues. “We worked really hard which brought out the best possible takes.

“We were told to leave our egos at the door and really focus on the music which helped us not get sidetracked by all the other bullshit! We found with enough push we could actually play better than we thought we could. Matt was able to drag out performances that really captured the energy.”
