It was always going to be an ambitious undertaking, sorting out an entire stadium festival in a matter of weeks, but the organisers of YesFest have sadly announced that the event will not be taking place.

“As it became clear that we were in real trouble over the last 72 hours, I have had recurring nightmares that I would end up being the guy who ran Australia‘s Fyre Festival, or worse, Ben Wyatt‘s Ice Town from Parks and Recreation, where one mistake haunts you for the rest of your professional life,” organiser Jonno Seidler wrote of the cancellation.

“The organisers of YesFest regret to advise that due to unforeseen circumstances, YesFest has been cancelled,” Ticketmaster’s website informs us.

“Event organisers and the Equality Campaign are extremely grateful for your continued support and passion for the Marriage Equality campaign. All tickets will be refunded automatically back to the credit card you used to purchase the tickets.”
