The 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup is almost upon us, and Pizza Hut has planned something big to mark the occasion.
Pizza Hut is giving away free pizzas in Australia for every goal scored. Every. Goal. Scored.
From the first kick off on Thursday until the final whistle in the final, the fast food chain will be rewarding football fans with 200 free pizzas for every single goal scored at the tournament throughout July and August.
And if an Australian player scores, Aussies can enjoy the thrill of victory with 600 free pizzas – triple the prizes.
If you fancy some free pizza, all you have to do is head to pizza hut.com.au/pizzasforgoals each day of the tournament at 4pm AEST.
With players like Chelsea’s Sam Kerr, the US’s Megan Rapinoe (in her final World Cup), and Spain’s Aitana Bonmati looking to impress for their countries, the goals should be in plentiful supply.
To raise your hopes, here’s some stats: in the previous Women’s World Cup in 2018, 138 goals were scored, with Australia contributing eight of those goals. If that exact total was to be repeated this year, a grand total of 32,400 free pizzas would be given away. That’s almost too much free pizza.

As one of the host nations – alongside New Zealand – and with the aforementioned Kerr in firing form, Australia come into the tournament as one of the favourites.
However, the US have won the past two World Cups, and will feel confident about their chances of making it a historic third consecutive win this year. In fact, as per BBC, the Americans are the favourites to win the whole thing according to Gracenote’s forecasting methodology.
Gracenote uses data from the FIFA women’s world rankings to estimate the results of every match, and ran approximately one million simulations of the entire tournament. The simulations declared that the US would repeat their 2015 and 2019 triumphs, although they’re not overwhelming favourites.
