The 25 most powerful figures in Australian TV and radio have been named, with Abbie Chatfield unsurprisingly ranking well after a huge 2022.
MediaWeek shared their Star Power 25 list this week, a countdown of the top 25 most powerful talents on screen and on air. According to the publication, the figures were chosen based on factors like the “average number of listeners/viewers, influence to shape the future, and commercial value.”
And despite being one of the youngest names on the list, Abbie Chatfield made it all the way to number four, with MediaWeek noting the star has “done a lot” over the last few years.
In 2022 alone, A Hot Night with Abbie Chatfield has sold out shows across the country, while she also memorably appeared as a judge on The Masked Singer Australia. It wouldn’t be surprising see her rise even further up the list in 2023.
The top spot went to Kyle Sandilands and Jackie O, which could prove a contentious decision. As MediaWeek noted, however, the pair’s consistent success is impossible to deny: “Kyle Sandilands and Jackie O Henderson have had a historic run in FM radio, dominating the breakfast slot since 2004 across two different stations.
“The pair is still going from strength to strength after winning a 30th consecutive survey (FM breakfast) and registering its highest cumulative audience ever in the most recent radio ratings survey.”
The rest of the top 5 was completed by Hamish Blake and Andy Lee (2), Ben Fordham (3), and Christian O’Connell (5). You can look at the full Star Power 25 list here.

Last week, Chatfield chatted to The Brag about ‘main character energy’, revealing why this should drive your next holiday.
“I think everyone should travel with their main character energy,” she insisted. “As much as you want to have a good time with your friends or family or whomever you’re going with, and as much as everyone has the best time of their lives, I think it’s a very positively selfish thing to do.”
