NSW Parliament yesterday passed a law which will place a 150-metre safe access zones about abortion clinics and hospitals that provide this service.

Those who breach the laws — aka. the nut jobs who harass and hassle emotionally-vulnerable women — will face jail time of six-to-twelve months.

The law passed through the Legislative Assembly with an overwhelming vote of 61 to 18.

Sadly, one of the dissenters was the Minister for Women Tanya Davies, who claimed protesters were “providing the other pieces of information that some women choose to accept”, with the mistaken view that “they don’t force their views onto these women. They are offering simply another choice.”

Labor MP Penny Sharpe called yesterday a “terrific day for women in NSW and the staff that work in reproductive health clinics”.
