UPDATE 28/6/21: Alan Cumming has been forced to postpone his upcoming Australian tour amid the COVID-19 outbreak across several states.

After having already performed as the closing finale of the Adelaide Cabaret Festival, Cumming will no longer be able to attend the rest of his scheduled dates due to border closures and increased venue capacity restrictions.

Cumming and his team are currently working with Frontier Touring to announced rescheduled dates for next year, with fans encouraged to hold on to their existing tickets.

However, refunds are available and can be arranged through the original point of purchase.

In a statement, Cumming revealed that “no one is more upset than me” over the delay.

“I’m so sorry that Ms Rona is playing havoc with my tour but if the Brisbane, Sydney, Gold Coast, Perth and Melbourne audiences are disappointed, please know that no one is more upset than me,” he said.

“I will come back and make it up to you once Australia is vaxxed up and open for business. I am Cumming back!”

ORIGINAL ARTICLE 10/5/21: Iconic Scottish-American actor, author and cabaret performer Alan Cumming has announced he is set to tour Australia in the middle of the year.

That’s right, the Golden Globe and Emmy Award nominee is bringing his new cabaret production Alan Cumming Is Not Acting His Age to audiences in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Gold Coast and Perth.

The tour will mark Cumming’s first time down under since 2017 when he performed his last critically-acclaimed show Alan Cumming Sings Sappy Songs.

This time around he is also set to perform at this year’s Adelaide Cabaret Festival, where he will serve as the 2021 Artistic Director as well.

The show will see Cumming discuss topics like showbiz and aging, sing some beloved tunes and bring some life-affirming laughs.

It’s safe to say that Cumming is one versatile performer, given he has starred in period dramas, comedies, thrillers and actions films alike.

Some of his most memorable performances have included roles in Eyes Wide Shut, GoldenEye, Spy Kids, Emma and Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion.

On top of his film credits, he has also starred on seven seasons of The Good Wife, for which he has received multiple accolades.

As if that wasn’t enough, his theatre work has seen him grace the stage of venues like the Sydney Opera House, the Hollywood Bowl and Carnegie Hall.

Cumming has also received over 40 awards for his humanitarianism and social activism, including an OBE (Officer of the British Empire) from the Queen for his contributions to the Arts and LGBT equality.

To top it all off, he has published five books to date, with his next memoir Baggage: Tales from a Fully Packed Life set for release in October.

All in all, there’s no doubt audiences who book tickets to Cumming’s shows will receive bang for their buck due to his myriad of talents.
