Alec Baldwin has said on Instagram that “no one wants the truth more than” he does regarding how the Rust on-set shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins actually occurred.
On October 21st, 2021, Hutchins was shot and killed after a gun was aimed at her by Baldwin during a movie rehearsal.
Though Baldwin was holding the gun at the time of Hutchins death, he denies any wrongdoing because there shouldn’t have been live rounds on the set.
Since the tragic event, Baldwin has conducted an official interview with ABC NEWS, and spoken about the incident on his own social media account.
“This has been surely the worst situation I’ve ever been involved with and I’m very hopeful that the people in charge with investigating this whole thing get to the truth as soon as possible,” Baldwin said in an Instagram video that was posted on New Years Day.
Baldwin then continued his speech by saying that he’s hoping to work on his own wellbeing this year.
“The one thing I do want to consider very carefully in this coming year and to really push myself is in terms of trying to not allow the negativity in my life to affect me,” he said.

“I’ve been having some very interesting phone calls with some very interesting people who I will not name, but some of them rather well-known people who deal in all kinds of behavioral, philosophical, religious, spiritual, meditation — all kinds of ways to attain a state of mind where you really short-circuit a lot of the negative in your life. And that’s what I want,: Baldwin continued.
“My goal in the new year is peace, awareness, consciousness, deepening my relationships with the people that I love, pulling them closer to me and improving relationships with people I care about but maybe I don’t get to see much of them anymore,” he added.
Last month, Baldwin’s phone was seized as part of the investigation into Hutchins death. The sheriff’s department said that a warrant was issued because he “refused to hand over the device without one”.
“Affiant is requesting a warrant for the seizure and search of Alec Baldwins’ cell phone to search for any evidence relating to the death investigation of Halyna Hutchins,” Sheriff’s Office Det. Alexandria Hancock said in a search warrant which was approved by a judge.
