Newly-crowned A Current Affair host Ally Langdon has opened up about the “brutal” moment she was snubbed by Tracy Grimshaw during her final episode of the long-running news series.

Speaking on KIIS FM’s Kyle and Jackie O this morning, former Today co-host Langdon discussed the awkward snub from her predecessor that was caught on video that subsequently went viral.

“I hate this idea of women being pitted against each other,” Langdon began, shutting down rumours of bad blood between her and Grimshaw.

“It’s pretty brutal when you watch the video, and I did say to Karl when it happened, like ‘Grimshaw just snubbed me!’,” Langdon continued.

“I had been talking to her as she was driving in that morning, about her last show and how she was feeling, so it wasn’t a deliberate snub. I love Trace,” she said, adding: “It looked really bad, I get that.”

She added that everything has been smoothed over between the pair after Tracy sent her a supportive text following the supposed snub.

“She did text at about 7 O’clock in the morning which was very good of her because I know how late she was up the night before.”

The text from Tracy apparently read: “I’m so sorry I missed you, was so overwhelmed and obviously didn’t see your petite head once Karl’s big boofhead loomed into vision. Argh, big sorry x.”

The miscommunication comes following shock jock Kyle Sandilands revealing who would be taking the torch from former host Grimshaw after months of speculation when she appeared on the Kyle and Jackie O show last week.

“Do you know how you’re passing the baton too?” Kyle asked Grimshaw during the chat.

“I can’t possibly give you a hint but you’ll know very soon,” she replied.

Kyle responded by saying that he thinks he already knows who Grimshaw’s replacement will be.

“I feel, I know because I’ve been speaking to Stefanovic about who he’s gonna put on as his, the replacement cohost,” he revealed.

Kyle’s temporary co-host Brittany Hockley chimed, in: “I think it’s Ally Langdon, I’m going to make the call.”

The shock jock spilled the beans and said that Langdon will take Grimshaw’s spot. “Let me just tell everyone, it is Ally Langdon. I don’t mean to bust channel 9’s bubble but when Karl,” he said.

While Grimshaw didn’t confirm the news, she didn’t dispute it either. “So you can confirm that it is Ally?” Kyle asked.

“I can confirm nothing,” she laughed.
