The Amazon Prime Twitter account just made a very poorly timed apocalypse joke amid Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
Amazon Prime’s corporate Twitter account, @PrimeVideo, just made an apocalypse joke with some of the worst timing ever seen on the platform. That didn’t stop a host of people from getting in on the quote Tweet action before the corporate giant could take down their post.
The Tweet, which has since been deleted, was unfortunately captioned, “Your last saved celebrity photo is your apocalypse buddy. Go.”
The post at hand comes on the same day that Russia began its invasion of Ukraine. A time when many are afraid of impending war and having to fight in a potential war. Due to the fact it was tweeted via iPhone, the social media team behind Amazon Prime can’t even try to talk their way out of this one. Amazon has yet to issue an apology or even tweet since the deletion. Not boding well for their Social Media Manager at this time.
Luckily, the quote tweets can still be found here.
This Twitter user points out that Amazon wasn’t quick enough on their backtracking and allowed many people to get a shot in or screenshot the post before it could be taken down.

@chokecherrychuu points out that the account has an extreme lack of shame when it comes to clout chasing and looking for more impressions.

This one is a little kinky but we’ll take it.
This tweet alone justifies taxing Bezos until his asshole prolapses. https://t.co/NRAuqzJ4VH

This Twitter user is scared of the willingness of corporate accounts to make jokes over anything they think would benefit them.

@golffromscratch points out that Amazon doesn’t deserve our trust despite how much it is asked of us.
These are the companies that always ask us to trust them with our future. They always swear they’ll look out for us https://t.co/NvIZyq4oSc
