Lego Star Wars is officially out and some of the easter eggs coming from it are great but this Anakin Skywalker one is just morbid.

Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga was released 6 days ago on April 5th, 2022, and seems to be well worth the wait. With overwhelmingly positive reviews this might be the game to finally start taking gamers away from their Elden Ring playthroughs (though it is doubtful).

The Skywalker Saga‘s summary is described as such:

“Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is a 2022 Lego-themed action-adventure game developed by Traveller’s Tales and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. It is the sixth entry in TT Games’ Lego Star Wars series of video games and the successor to Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens.”

The game has been receiving positive reviews across the board and is being lauded for its open-world take in a Lego game.

The easter egg in question features an interaction between a young Anakin Skywalker and Darth Vader.

When Anakin approaches Vader he remarks, “Woah, that’s a cool suit. Where can I get one of those?” Vader stands, listening, with his arms crossed and head tilted back as if to get a better look at the younger version of himself.

Vader responds, “Patience, child. Patience.” This is of course in reference to Anakin’s eventual turn to the dark side. What makes the easter egg morbid is that this young and innocent Anakin Skywalker’s future is one of horrific pain.

For those who aren’t familiar with Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, Anakin is cut limb from limb by his former Jedi Master, Obi-Wan Kenobi. Skywalker is left with only one arm on a beach of lava— his flesh ignited into flame, before Palpatine finds him and clads him in Darth Vader’s iconic armour.

To know that is your future, especially as a young child, would be a truly frightening prospect.
