Apocalypse Theatre aims to foster provocative political theatre with the announcement of the new show Asylum.

The company has invited playwrights across the nation to write a piece that response to the theme of ‘asylum’, which are then presented as staged readings at Theatre 505.

More than 20 emerging and establish playwrights, including asylum seekers who have been granted refuge, will be included in the series, as well as figures such as Hilary Bell, Many Rachel Brown and Noëlle Janaczewska.

Asylum opens at Theatre 505 on Tuesday February 3 and runs until Saturday February 14. Tickets start at $25 with all sales donated in full to the Asylum Seekers Centre and the ASRC.
