When it comes to streaming services, Apple differentiates itself by focussing almost entirely on original titles. So, it should come as little surprise that the four new additions coming to Apple+ in April 2022 are all Apple originals.

The streaming platform has been growing a steady catalogue of titles since its inception in November 2019. This month, Slow Horses, Roar, They Call Me Magic and Shining Girls will be added to the already extensive list.

Slow Horses – released April 1

Slow Horses is a spy drama that’s adapted from CWA Gold Dagger Award-winning Mick Herron’s first novel in the “Slow Horses” series. The six-part series, which stars Academy Award-winner Gary Oldman as Jackson Lamb, focuses on a dysfunctional team of MI5 agents who find themselves blundering through the smoke and mirrors of the espionage world. The first two episodes of Slow Horses drop on April 1st, with a new episode released weekly every Friday.

Roar – released April 15

Nicole Kidman will star in 'Roar' coming to Apple+ in April

The wait is almost over for fans who have been counting down the days for the release of Roar, starring Nicole Kidman and Alison Brie. Though the premiere is almost upon us, production has been very tight-lipped about the comedic, female-driven series and are yet to officially release a trailer for the show. However, we do know that the series, which is also produced by Kidman, is based on a book of short stories by the same name by Cecelia Ahern and portrays what it’s like to be a woman in today’s world.

They Call Me Magic – released April 22

They Call Me Magic is a four-part documentary series that takes a look inside the life of Earvin “Magic” Johnson. Johnson is an American former professional basketball player and former president of basketball operations of the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association. The series will follow Magic’s career, as well as concentrate on his work changing the conversation around HIV and transitioning into becoming a community activist.

Shining Girls – released April 29

Shining Girls is yet another star studded addition that will be arriving on Apple TV+ in April. The thriller series stars and is executive produced by Emmy Award winner Elisabeth Moss. The TV show is based Lauren Beukes’ bestselling novel, “Shining Girls” follows Kirby Mazrachi (Moss), a story which sees a traumatised Chicago newspaper archivist work to uncover her attacker’s identity.
