The gongs have been given and the booze has been boozen.

A heady night at the ARIAs saw awards divvied out to names big and small, with Flume and Tame Impala leading the pack.

Sydney producer Flume won the awards for Best Male, Best Dance Album, Producer of the Year and Breakthrough Artist – Release.

The WA world-beaters Tame Impala, meanwhile, won the coveted Album of the Year for Lonerism, as well as Best Group and Best Rock Album.

Elsewhere, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds won Best Independent Release and Best Adult Contemporary Album for Push The Sky Away, Jessica Mauboy won Best Female, Matt Corby won Song of the Year for ‘Resolution’, and Illy beat away the likes of Horrorshow and Urthboy for Best Urban Album (Bring It Back).

And the night’s biggest losers? One Direction won Best International Artist, so the world of music probably takes a hit for that one. Still, a wonderful night of celebration for Aussie artists overall.
