If challenging, local art is your bag, then this one is for you.

ARO Gallery, a renowned exhibition space well-regarded for its support of Sydney’s thriving arts community, is set to unveil a brand new show of locally sourced works.

Titled Urban Edge, the exhibition is designed to engage directly with local built infrastructure and the architecture of the modern world, and will feature works submitted by five Sydney artists, including celebrated painter Ivan Goodacre.

Given the particularly fraught times of environmental destruction we currently live in, the show has a distinct mass appeal, although it promises to deal with its issues in a left-of-field manner typical of the gallery space.

Urban Edge kicks off on Wednesday August 3 at ARO Gallery, and concludes on Sunday August 21. For more information hit up the gallery’s Facebook page, here.
