We know that quarantine food isn’t the best and it’s been a problem for all those tennis pros currently in iso ahead of the Australian Open.

In case you haven’t heard about it yet, several tennis players who flew into Australia for the 2021 Australian Open on chartered flights have been sent into mandatory quarantine in Melbourne (as per ABC News) following a number of positive COVID-19 cases among passengers.

Head of COVID-19 Quarantine Victoria Emma Cassar confirmed that while no players were tested positive (yet), the four confirmed cases (one broadcast team member, a crew member, and two coaches) means that everyone who were on the same flight as them are required to quarantine for 14 days.

This isn’t ideal for these tennis pros as they’ll miss out on valuable preparation time ahead of the year’s first Grand Slam, but it’s something that must be done for the safety of everyone.

While some pros are dealing with quarantine just fine, others aren’t too happy with their situation. To be more specific, a number of tennis players are complaining at the food that’s been served to them.

Since there’s nothing to really do in quarantine, tennis stars like Fabio Fognini, Pablo Carreno Busta, Corentin Moutet and Marco Cecchinato have all decided to air their frustrations about the food on Instagram.

In defence of all those tennis players whinging about the quarantine food, that’s not exactly the sort of stuff you want to be eating when you’re getting ready to play a Grand Slam like the Australian Open, not to mention that there’s not much of it.

Having said that, Cassar did state that UberEats is perfectly fair game if they don’t like the quarantine food.

“UberEats in any quarantine program and any food delivery service is allowed,” says Cassar. “There is one meal provided to people. If it’s not to your liking, then of course you can order UberEats.”

Unsurprisingly, a number of tennis pros have already taken up the UberEats option for some Maccas as that is looking like the better option than the quarantine food being served.

Having said all that, one tennis player, France’s Benoit Paire, seems to be taking to the UberEats option quite well as he looks to be enjoying his meal choices quite a lot more than his fellow tennis pros.

Hey, at least he’s looking at things positively!

Just a week and a half of quarantine to go for these pros, which means plenty of Maccas to still come. Hopefully they’ll have enough time to get ready before the Australian Open starts on Monday, February 8th.
