Tip a cup of tiny marshmallows to the curb, as Australia’s oldest Pizza Hut has just been demolished.

The Belfield Pizza Hut launched in 1970, ushering in a new all-you-can-eat-filled decade.

Alas, it is no more, with Strathfield Council confirming to Good Food that the site would soon be home to would soon be a 61-apartment building. Phew!

The building hadn’t operated as a Pizza Hut since 1999, enjoying incarnations as the Charcoal BBQ House, and the Seoul Hoikwan Restaurant.

The building remained the same, aside from the iconic red roof being painted a federation green.

Hopefully the apartment blocks will have an ice-cream machine and a salad bar in the lobby, as a solemn tribute to a bygone era.
