In celebration of May the 4th, aka. International Star Wars day, Hasbro has released a version of Monopoly featuring Baby Yoda.
The game is centred around an unnamed character from Disney’s new Star Wars spinoff series The Mandalorian, but the character has become known to fans as ‘Baby Yoda’. If you didn’t know, ‘The Child’ isn’t really a baby either, being 50 years old, but he is also the same species as the original Yoda!
Now Hasbro is dropping Monopoly: The Child Edition, with pre-orders being taken now for $68 through EB Games. The only thing is that is won’t be released til October, 2020… but look, you may as well get one now and then it will be a nice surprise later in the year!
According to the product description, by playing the game you’ll “collect important supplies for bounty hunting and caring for the Child.
You’ll also “build hideouts and common houses, charging for safe passage. Pick up Camtono cards and Bounty Puck cards, dealing you extra problems and surprises along the way. Do what you gotta do to keep the child safe and out of Imperial hands.”
Look at that face… how could you say no?
Baby Yoda is Monopoly’s latest coverboy!
So what do you get for your money?
The game comes with four different Baby Yoda character pieces, plus ers, 18 title deed cards, 16 Bounty Puck cards, 16 Camtono cards, 32 plastic hideouts, 12 plastic common houses, 12 dice, a money pack, a game guide and one gameboard.
Series one of The Mandalorian wrapped up on December 27 but Disney+ has ordered a second, which is due to land on the streaming service in October (just in time for your copy of Baby Yoda Monopoly to arrive!)
