Barack Obama has proven once again that there’ll never be another US president as cool as him… or at least, another that can nail a three-pointer.
The former leader of the free world showed off his considerable basketball skills in a video captured while on the Joe Biden campaign trail.
The video, taken by the Biden campaign’s digital director Olivia Raisner, shows Obama casually sinking the three while wearing a COVID-safe face mask.
We’re going to go ahead and bet that Obama is quietly relieved there is permanent evidence of his NBA-worthy performance.
Within the video, Obama is seen repeatedly yelling “that’s what I do,” after nailing the shot, as onlookers appear straight up stunned.
Meanwhile, Biden simply said “whoa” because leaving the gym with Obama.
In true #picsoritdidnthappen fashion, Obama took to Instagram to share his success with his casual 32.5 million followers.
Get out there and vote, and then get two other folks to join you,” he captioned the post.
“It’s like draining a three for democracy.”
As reported by CNN, Obama has plenty of experience with shootin’ hoops, having played varsity basketball while attending high school in Hawaii.
He continued to play even as his political career began to flourish, and also hit a three in front of US troops in Kuwait back in 2008.
It’s no surprise that Obama’s most recent feat attracted significant attention, including from NBA legend LeBron James.
Retweeting the video, James declared Obama was “just showing out.” Now you just showing out now my friend!! That’s what you do huh?? Ok ok I see. All cash!
Now all that’s left for Obama to do is to challenge Trump to a cheeky B-ball game, although I will try not to hold my breath on that one.
