Prepare your bungholes – that Beavis and Butt-Head reunion is actually happening this year.

The OG animated misfits have been in ‘retirement’ for around 10 years, after first appearing on MTV in 1992.

Creator Mike Judge has released new sketches of the pair, saying they “need some time to get back in shape.”

Beavis and Butt-Head will be returning this year with a brand new movie and more on Paramount+,” he wrote.

“No exact date yet, but soon.”

Unlike The Simpsons, it appears Beavis and Butt-Head have aged in real time. And fans aren’t having it.

“Uh, no. I’ll take B&B over whatever those other things are,” one person replied.

“Good luck but Beavis and Butt-Head won’t work these days. Please do KOTH or SpyKids,” wrote another.

“Hand over the King of the Hill revival please,” wrote somebody else.

As Butt-Head himself said in season two episode Yogurt’s Cool: “The more things change, the more they suck.”

Whilst it has been a while since ‘Cornholio’ went into retirement, rumours of a reunion have never been far away.

In 2016, MTV Classic brought the crass, metal-loving teens back – along with a lot of faves out of the vault.

In 2020, it was revealed that a ninth and 10th season starring the duo was expected to come out on Comedy Central, and bring them into the modern-day, Gen Z world.

ViacomCBS announced the film and TV series would be happening, as per The Wrap: “The ‘Untitled Beavis and Butt-Head Movie‘ on Paramount+ will serve as the kick-off for the forthcoming Comedy Central series, which ordered the Mike Judge-led reboot for two seasons last year.”

Now, it appears we’re finally closer to seeing Beavis and Butt-Head ‘do’ it all again… even though we still don’t know exactly when it will be.

Although some fans appear wary about the cult TV show’s reboot, their influence is… pervasive.
