Shane O’Neill

This video knocked me sideways. Shane’s technical ability is superhuman and there’s quite a few tricks in this part that no-one has ever done. 360 double flips are a speciality. The 27-year-old from Melbourne is right amongst the world’s best and this part crystallised his impact for all time. He’s so casual taking on huge rails and gaps. You can’t beat that style.

Tommy Fynn

Another Aussie! This part is my sentimental favourite for 2017, if only for the mind blowing closer (see image above). As my three-year-old said upon viewing, “I want to do a backside lipslide.” Tommy is a force of nature. Crushing rails like an absolute boss. His style reminds me of Brian Anderson, powerful and authoritative.

Tiago Lemos

Tiago is a tall dude with huge pop. Doing tricks right on the tallest possible blocks and rails. With the manual flip out tricks and huge flips, there’s a bit of Stevie Williams in his style. It’s impossible not to appreciate this part. Around the 3:49 mark, he does the longest damn back tailslide you’ll ever see.

Miles Silvas

Miles is one of my new favourite skaters after watching his process for tricks on PUSH at The Berrics. He’s one of those naturally flawless skaters. Doing superhuman things that astound all the other pros around him. This is the next generation.

REAL – By Any Means

It’s a brand new day and a fresh young squad for the REAL team, a company that dates to 1990. One of the most legit companies. Young guns in this part include Ishod Wair, Zion Wright, Jack Olson, Jafin Garvey and Willy Lara.
