The Australian Chamber Orchestra will perform a trio of piecesinspired by passionate and traumatic life experiences, brought to life by an accompanying performance from Bell Shakespeareactors,Marshall NapierandElla Scott Lynch.

The actors recreate the story behind 700 passionate letters written between Czech composer,LeošJanáček, and his much younger married muse. Under London Symphony Orchestra’s concert masterGordan Nikolic, the ACO will performJanáček’sunashamedlyautobiographical second quartet, Intimate Letters, which explores his overwhelming, obsessive, and ultimately unrequited love. It will be accompanied by Mozart’sDivertimento InF andSmetana’sString Quartet No 2.

Intimate Letterswill play at theSydney Opera House on Sunday August 24,and at City Recital Hall, Angel Place Tuesday August 26 – Saturday August 30.
