A TikTok influencer has spilled the beans on a virtual encounter with none other than Ben Affleck on a celebrity dating app – which continued after she unmatched the A-lister, thinking he was a catfish.
TikTok user Nivine Jay let the cat out of the bag in a clip uploaded to the video-sharing platform, where she revealed that Affleck later chased her up on Instagram, sending a video to her asking why she unmatched him. Awkward!
“Thinking of the time I matched with Ben Affleck on Raya and thought it was fake so I unmatched him and he sent me a video on Instagram,” she wrote, on the TikTok vid, along with four skull emojis.
She added the track ‘Waking Up in the Morning’ by Real Housewives of New Jersey star Gia Giudice on top of the viral clip.
It then cut to proof of the Argo star sliding into her Instagram DMs, with a short clip showing Affleck saying “Nivine, why did you unmatch me? It’s me,” into the camera.
Whoops…

Like many celebrity goss TikTok videos, it quickly went viral – even grabbing the attention of fellow Hollywood stars such as actress Jameela Jamil.
“There was that one time I told my *good friend* Ben Affleck not to message girls on Instagram and say ‘it’s me’ like a mafia boss…. -Tahani,” Jamil joked on Twitter.

TikTok users were certifiably shook by the story, with one user commenting: “girl u better bring that to all job interviews.”
Another added: “The way he said ‘its me’ [sic] my soul would have left my body.”
Nivine replied, saying: “Confirmed my soul did leave my body.” She captioned the video, “Sorry Ben.”
When contacted by E! News following the clip going viral, Nivine insisted she wasn’t throwing any shade toward Ben when she posted the video.
“I’m seeing a lot of comments calling him a creep and l don’t think that’s fair. l wasn’t making fun of him in the video,” she explained.
“l was making fun of myself for thinking he was a catfish and it was just supposed to be funny.”
Affleck was previously married to Jennifer Garner for several years until their divorce in 2018. He later dated Saturday Night Live producer Lindsay Shookus, as well as Knives Out star Ana de Armas until January 2021.
More recently, there’s been whispers the actor has been hanging with his ex, Jennifer Lopez, which begs the question – will there be a return of Bennifer? Stay tuned…
