Ben & Jerry’s are giving away a shitload of ice cream, Pokémon Go style

Ice cream juggernauts Ben & Jerry’s are giving away a whopping 50,000+ scoops of ice cream in their very own virtual-meets-on-foot Easter hunt.

To get Aussies in the Easter spirit, Ben & Jerry’s have teamed up with digital platform BlockV, to unveil the biggest virtual Easter hunt ever seen.

The new and technologically-advanced ice cream experience involves ice cream lovers catching virtual eggs, with a system that sounds like it works pretty much the same as Pokémon Go.

Transforming static objects into collecting portals, the virtual eggs are hidden around Ben & Jerry’s stores across the country, where you can scoop them up with your phone and convert them into real-life scoops of ice cream in store.

Known as “vatoms” on BlockV, the virtual eggs you collect will automatically convert to a digital wallet, which you can take right on in to any participating Ben & Jerry’s Scoop Store and redeem them for the good sweet stuff.

By particpating in the Easter hunt action, you also stand the chance to win a year of free ice cream, I repeat, a YEAR OF FREE ICE CREAM. You can also win Hoyts tickets, Sea Life passes and more.

Here for a good time, not a long time, the biggest Ben & Jerry’s ice cream giveaway to ever hit Australian shores is running from now until April 6.
