In case you’ve not been paying attention, this weekend has seen the first half of Coachella 2018 take place. In addition to being headlined by the likes of The Weeknd and Eminem, it was the set of the third headliner, Beyoncé, that has everyone talking, namely due to her onstage reunion with Destiny’s Child.

Back in 2006, Destiny’s Child announced their final show at that year’s NBA All-Star Game, with all of the group’s members going on to continue their respective solo careers. Ever since, talk of a reunion from the group has been a constant source of fascination for fans, with every one-off appearance and musical collaboration driving fans wild with excitement.

Now, as part of Beyoncé’s headlining set at Coachella on April 14th (which also featured husband Jay-Z and sister Solange), Destiny’s Child members Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams joined the singer onstage to take part in a brief reunion of the legendary group.

Performing a medley of ‘Lose My Breath’, ‘Say My Name’, and ‘Soldier’, the performance has since seen the Internet go wild with happiness at the sheer concept of a Destiny’s Child reunion.

As NME reports, rumours of a Destiny’s Child reunion have been rife over the last couple of days, with rumours stating that Beyoncé could be joined by some “special guests” for her set.

“Beyonce and Destiny’s Child are reuniting,” a source was quoted as saying. “It was teased, rumoured, squashed, so nothing much else was said . . . But it’s happening.”

Now the only question that remains is whether or not this will be an ongoing reunion, just another one to add to the ‘one-off’ pile, or most importantly, if it will happen again at Beyoncé’s Caachella set next weekend as well. Only time will tell.
