In the most bittersweet of news for fans of the Marvel Universe, the Black Panther sequel film has just received both a release date, as well as an official title.

Locked in to be called, Wakanda Forever, the sequel film sees the cast return to the world of Wakanda, set to release in cinemas on November 11th, 2022. As per ScreenRantproduction for the film is yet to go underway, so it only makes sense that its plot is yet to be revealed on any level.

The franchise has face many adversities in the last year or so, including the devastatingly tragic loss of the Black Panther star, Chadwick Boseman, as well as the ongoing struggle that is COVID-19. In the meantime, Marvel Studios have released a YouTube teaser video captioned, “The world may change and evolve, but the one thing that will never change: we’re all part of one big family.”

The montage video celebrates many key moments throughout Marvel’s history, as well as introducing the names of the upcoming films.

In a recent interviewBlack Panther star Lupita Nyong’o shared how she is feeling about the upcoming sequel and returning to the set without Boseman. She said, “People will ask me, ‘Are you excited to go back?’ Excitement isn’t the word. I feel like I’m in a very pensive and meditative state when it comes to Black Panther 2. His passing is still extremely raw for me. And I can’t even begin to imagine what it will be like to step on set and not have him there.”

Nyong’o also shared in the interview that Coogler did his part to reshape the sequel film so that it would be “respectful” following the loss of Boseman last year.

She continued, “But at the same time we have a leader in Ryan, who feels very much like we do, who feels the loss in a very, very real way as well. And his idea, the way which he has reshaped the second movie is so respectful of the loss we’ve all experienced as a cast and as a world.”

“So it feels spiritually and emotionally correct to do this. And hopefully, what I do look forward to, is getting back together and honoring what he started with us and holding his light through it. Because he left us a lot of light that we’re still going to be bathing in. I know that for sure.”
