At BlizzCon 2018, more than 40,000 gamers gathered to be amongst the first to learn what’s coming next for their favourite Blizzard games. Here’s what you might have missed…

Warcraft III is being remastered

In the real-time strategy world, Warcraft III was a massive hit, released before the WoW phenomenon had seen the light of day. Warcraft III: Reforged is set to reimagine both the base game and its award-winning expansion, The Frozen Throne, by rebuilding it from the ground up with a complete visual overhaul, an upgraded world editor and modern matchmaking features. That’s once you get past a whopping 62 single-player missions. If you’ve never learned the history of Azeroth, there’s no better time than when Reforged launches in 2019.

Meet Diablo Immortal

It’s safe to say that the announcement of Diablo Immortal ruffled a few feathers. That’s because the new project forgoes the series’ PC and console past in favour of becoming a massively multiplayer online action-role-playing title for iOS and Android devices – a first for the series. Six character classics will be available, all highly customisable and packing new powers and abilities. No word yet on a release date.

No, Diablo 4 still hasn’t been announced

Perhaps the most crushing blow for fans at BlizzCon was the complete lack of Diablo 4. Unfortunately, there wasn’t so much as a tease for the highly expected sequel, but on the plus side – Diablo III: Eternal Collection has just been released on Switch.

Overwatch adds a new member

Overwatch has become a huge player in the multiplayer sector over the last couple of years, so if you’re one of the dedicated fans, look forward to the imminent arrival of Ashe. The gunslinging outlaw will soon be added to the roster.

World of Warcraft Classic will give you those nostalgic feels

Originally announced last year, World of Warcraft Classic now has a release window – winter of 2019. The mode will be available to those who have an active WoW subscription and will allow them to experience the game as it was 10 years ago. Just in case you wanted to feel particularly old.
