Six weeks after suffering a heart attack on the set of Better Call Saul, Bob Odenkirk has returned to work.
Odenkirk confirmed his first day back with a celebratory post on Twitter, sharing a photo of himself in the makeup chair. “Back to work on Better Call Saul!” Odenkirk wrote. “So happy to be here and living this specific life surrounded by such good people.”
The 58-year-old went on to give kudos to makeup artist Cheri Montesanto for “making me not look ugly for shooting!”

The actor collapsed on the Albuquerque set of the sixth and final season of Better Call Saul on July 27th. In the days following, Odenkirk confirmed that he suffered a “small heart attack” and that he’d “be back soon.”
“Hi. It’s Bob. Thank you. To my family and friends who have surrounded me this week,” the actor wrote. “And for the outpouring of love from everyone who expressed concern and care for me. It’s overwhelming. But I feel the love and it means so much.”

Earlier this week, the show’s executive producer Thomas Schnauz confirmed that the shoot on the final season is “moving forward” whilst Odenkirk recovered at home.
“Everything with production is moving forward, steady but slow,” Schnauz recently told Den of Geek, “we’re filming scenes that don’t involve Bob right now.”
Thankfully, things are getting back to business. The final season of “Better Call Saul” is expected to premiere in early 2022.
