Former The Bachelorette lead Brooke Blurton thinks she did a terrible job in the role, so much so that she called herself “the sh*ttest Bachelorette”.

Brooke starred as The Bachelorette in 2021 and, along with being the first openly bi-sexual lead, she had the first mixed-gender cast too. Brooke gave her final rose to Darvid Garayeli, however, the couple broke up shortly after the season aired.

The weekend gone marked a year since Brook’s time on The Bachelorette, and to celebrate (or commiserate), the former lead reflected on her time on the show.

“So I was actually thinking about The Bachelorette with it being a year since the finale, and I was thinking, ‘Wow’,” she said on her Instagram Story. “On a global scale, amazing, great. Progression levels, great.

“In terms of entertainment value, did I provide it? Absolutely f*cking not. I think I was the sh*ttest Bachelorette.”

Brooke said that her lack of drama on the show was reflected in The Bachelorette’s ratings for that season.

“Like yeah, the ratings will probably tell you otherwise — actually, no, they’ll tell you that I was pretty sh*t,” she continued. “Actually, I did win the youth categories, that’s all that counts for me.”

“But I was so s**t,” she laughed. “I was sleep deprived, I was worked like a dog. I just can’t believe I got through that whole thing and still found at least someone in the end. Not with them now, but I just can’t believe it.

“I’m definitely not built for something like that and I think still to this day that I was the s**ttest Bachelorette. That’s not very positive, but I still think that.”

However, despite thinking that she did a subpar job at the role, Brooke told her followers that she’s still proud of herself for representing minority groups on the reality show.

“I feel and still very proud that I was your first EVER First Nations and bisexual bachelorette. As much as that chapter has come to a full close. Representation, inclusivity, diversity STILL MATTERS. That chapter won’t ever stop.

“One day I will find my person, but right now I’m happy dating myself.”
