Former Bachelorette Brooke Blurton has released her new memoir Big Love in which she opens up about sensitive subjects like neglect, abuse and homelessness she’s experienced.
Speaking of the lead-up to the book’s release, Blurton told Daily Telegraph: “It is scary and pretty vulnerable and the things that I am sharing are even more vulnerable.”
“I am a ball of nerves at the moment, I haven’t been able to sleep properly. I feel like this is the same energy as going into The Bachelorette, the unknown of what people will think of it, will they love it or hate it, and I am such a self critical person. I am really hard on myself so those are the thoughts and feelings that I am feeling and I am allowing myself to feel that because it is so normal.”
“I feel like I just lay it all out bare, and I refuse to allow those experiences and my past to define me,” she explained.
The reality star shared that writing the book was a cathartic experience, and was her way of taking charge of the trauma she experienced when she was younger.
“That is the whole point of the book, it is about reclamation. This is me being able to tell my story and basically slap people in the face and say, ‘cop this, I am taking it back’. If you want the truth of my story, here it is in the book.”
Filming for The Challenge: War of the Worlds is currently underway in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and the series is expected to begin airing later this year.

“I bloody wish there was some potential talent there but there was nothing,” she said.
“I wanted to try something different other than love reality shows. And because I’ve always had such a competitive nature, The Challenge reached out and I am a bit of an adrenaline junky so I thought, why not?”
