Melbourne socialite and upcoming SAS Australia star Brynne Edelsten has been charged with trafficking, possessing, and using methylamphetamine following a raid earlier this month.

Speaking out as the news went public, the 38-year-old said she would be “vigorously fighting all charges” against her.

“Earlier this month, I was charged with criminal charges,’’ Brynne said in a statement to the Herald Sun.

“I am shocked and saddened by these events and will be vigorously fighting all charges.

“I am very thankful for the support of the team around me and will not be making any further comment,” she concluded.

According to the publication, Victoria Police said in a statement that officers entered the property at 3 pm on May 11 and seized a number of illegal items after obtaining a warrant.

“Officers attended the Hazelwood Road property about 3 pm and seized what is believed to be magic mushrooms, methylamphetamine, prescription drugs and an allegedly stolen electric bike,” the statement said.

“A 39-year-old Boronia man was arrested at the scene and later charged with traffick methyl-amphetamine, attempt to traffick alprazolam, possess methyl-amphetamine, possess schedule 4 poison and deal property suspected proceeds of crime.

Former millionaire businessman Geoffrey Edelsten – who was married to Brynne from 2009 to 2014 – has now spoken out in the wake of his ex-wife’s drug charges.

“She’s got a battle on her hands,” the 78-year-old told The Daily Mail, before explaining that he hadn’t “spoken to her in two years.”

He added that he also didn’t plan to reach out to Brynne.

Geoffrey and Brynne made headlines following their marriage in 2009 due to their significant age gap. After five years, the pair divorced and Geoffrey swiftly married 30-year-old Gabi Grecko, who he also divorced five months later in 2015.

While SAS Australia is set to air later on this year, Seven reportedly declined to comment on the situation, saying it was a police matter.
