In a new excerpt from her upcoming memoir, This Will Only Hurt A Little, Busy Phillips has detailed an incident that occurred on the set of Freaks and Geeks.
Phillips has recalled that they were filming a scene that required her character to gently nudge Franco. Franco was caught off guard by this, broke character and attacked Phillips. Phillips wrote “He grabbed both my arms and screamed in my face, ‘DON’T EVER TOUCH ME AGAIN! And he threw me to the ground. Flat on my back. Wind knocked out of me.” She continued to describe him as being a “fucking bully” throughout the Freaks and Geeks experience, as Yahoo reports.
Phillips went into detail about how her co-stars were horrified, with Linda Cardellini insisting she call her manager. The show’s producers and director forced Franco to apologise to her the following day.
