A “top secret” list of influencers set to star in the polarising Netflix series, Byron Baes, has leaked — and yeah, they all look like Glue Store models.

The list was unveiled by the folks over at Confidential. As a zoomer with a boomer heart I literally have no idea who any of these people are. They’re frighteningly, intimidatingly perfect looking — as if they’ve lived their whole lives butt-chugging The Beauty Chef collagen supplements.

Reality TV tragics will recognise the familiar faces of Love Island star Elias Chigros, and Bachelorette and Bachelor In Paradise contestant Nathan Favro.

Other additions to the Byron Baes cast include Hannah Brauer — whose parents own the très (shabby) chic Bisque Traders in Bangalow and power couple Dave Frim and Saskia Wotton — the minds behind the fashion label Silk Laundry.

Investment company employee Elle Watson, spiritual therapist Simba Ali, influencer Jade Kevin Foster, talent manager Alex Reid, designer Jess Bell and her model sister Lauren Bell and musician Billy Otto will also be joining the cast.

Other folks who have made the Byron Baes cast include Elle Watson, who works for an investment company, spiritualistic therapist Simba Ali, influencer Jade Kevin Foster and talent manager Alex Reid, along with designer Jess Bell and her model sis Lauren (will they be like the Kim and Kyle Richards of the show?), plus musician Billy Otto.

“They are artists, musicians, entrepreneurs, business owners, models, on a spiritual journey and more. They understand the power of influence. They are part of Byron. They understand the creative vision of the show that has been developed with them over several months,” Netflix’s executive Que Minh Luu shared in a statement.

Take this grand unveil with a grain of salt, we copped it from a gossip column. It’s all fun and games dahhhhlling.

Byron Baes has been shrouded with controversy, with residents and business owners in Byron banding together in protest of the show, urging Netflix to cancel the series.

In a press release, Byron Baes has been described as a “docu-soap following a feed of hot Instagrammers living their best lives, being their best selves, creating the best drama content, #nofilter guaranteed.”

Back in April, members of the community — including the owners of Byron institutions the Byron Bay General Store and No Bones restaurant— hosted an emergency meeting in an attempt to combat the series from filming. Byron shire mayor, Simon Richardson, has also appealed to the council — asking it to oppose the production.

“We’ve almost got a Truman Show-type portrayal of who we are where everything is quite idyllic and superficial, where out the back it’s an empty parking lot,” Cr Richardson said. “We’ve got a community that is in real stress, we’ve got a community that has real life issues dealing with housing, work, affordability.”
