After viewing countless episodes of Breaking Bad, I’ve learnt that the manufacturing of drugs is a rather risky business, to say the least. However, one student from the University of Canberra has discovered this the hard way, accidentally blowing up his dorm room, which was allegedly doubling as a secret drug lab.
As the Canberra Times reports, police were called to the University of Canberra on Tuesday night after an explosion occurred on campus.
Upon investigating, police reportedly discovered a number of chemicals, drug-related paraphernalia, and a notebook which contained the chemical formula for MDMA.
While the 19-year-old man was taken to the Canberra Hospital, students were evacuated from areas of the campus from Tuesday night until Wednesday afternoon.
A recent report from the ABC has revealed that Miles Whitty appeared before the ACT Magistrates Court this morning, charged with the manufacturing of an illegal drug.
Mr. Whitty was however ordered by Magistrate Bernadette Boss to have his mental health assessed, after which point he will reappear in court.
