In case you missed the memo Carriageworks Farmers Market will be decking their halls this Saturday morning.
The iconic fresh food market will feature 21 new stores that specialise in Christmas fair. Expect juicy hocks of Christmas ham, luscious trees, brandy-drenched Christmas cakes that’ll make your grandmother hang her head in shame and mince pies that’ll have you living in a cinnamon-fuelled haze.
Word on the street is that Quay and Bennelong have given their chefs the morning off to showcase the highly-coveted snow egg, you’ll be living out your Masterchef dreams.
There will also be a quality selection of boutique booze from local distilleries like the legendary Archie Rose and Grifter Brewing Co, Demoiselle Distillery and Eloquesta Wines.
Once you’ve got all the culinary debacle out of the way you’ll be able to move on to the last minute gift frenzy. Stores will be flogging gorgeous ceramics and cookbooks. So if you have a Pinterest king or queen that you’re trying to win the affections of, here is the perfect opportunity.
If you’ve never visited the market before make sure you treat yo’ self to a bouquet of fresh flowers from one of the floristry stalls. Top of the silly-season self-love with a delish pastry or a hot crumpet topped with Pepe Saya butter and honey.
It’s gonna be the Christmas stalls to end all Christmas stores. Don’t sweat it out in a gaudy Westfield, embrace the industrial wonderland that is Carriageworks Redfern.
