The tasty but sorry incident took place not at Willy Wonka’s torture palace but at an M&M Mars factory in Lancaster Country, Pennsylvania, as per TMZ.
It’s unclear how the two people got trapped in the chocolate vat, but it was serious enough to prompt authorities to cut a hole in the side of the tank to free them.
The first person was rescued around 3:10pm, followed by their partner in chocolate around 15 minutes later. It’s also unclear if the vat was completely filled to the brim or empty. The factory where the incident took place produces delicious treats such as M&Ms and Dove chocolate
Thankfully both people were quickly transported to a local hospital, Assistant Supervisor Nick Schoenberger of Lancaster County 911 Dispatch told CNN. It’s unclear what condition they’re currently in.
A prequel film to Dahl’s novel is on the way next year, starring Timothée Chalamet as Willy Wonka. When the first images of the actor as the chocolatier appeared last year, the internet reactions were a chaotic mix of thirst, excitement, shock, and confusion. “timothee chalamet willy wonka is what happens when a hollywood focus group tries to create a tumblr sexy man,” was a particular highlight.
