After stunning punters at this year’s 40th Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras, Cher will be making her way back to Australian shores once again, this time, gracing timeless pop fans across the nation with her very own headline show.

The shows will mark the first time in 13 years the award-winning performer/actress performs across the country, with the tour making stops in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Newcastle, Adelaide and Perth this September and October. “My visit to Sydney’s Mardi Gras reminded me how unique and beautiful Australia is.  It’s been 13 years since I toured there so I thought ‘let’s do it one more time.’” said Cher in a statement.

The last time Cher performed a headline tour in Australia was back in 2005, where she played 12-sold-out arena shows across the country as part of her three-year Farewell Tour, one of the highest grossing tours in history – now, she’ll be back with the aptly titled Here We Go Again Tour. Tickets will go on sale on Friday, May 18th, however, eager fans wanting to nab their seats early can secure their spots during the Telstra Thanks pre-sale

When Cher was in the country for Mardi Gras, she did happen to slip up when it came to posing with Maclom Turnbull for a quick selfie, which brought on much disdain from fans. Cher was quick to apologise, saying that Turnbull seemed to be “very open and excited about Mardi Gras and LGBTI community.”

“Am so sorry. Guess that’s why I have few friends who are politicians. He seemed very open and excited about Mardi Gras and LGBTI community.”

In what’s been a big year for the enduring legend, she’ll also be heading back to the big screen in this year’s sequel to Mamma Mia – Mamma Mia: Here I Go Again!.
