Sydney-based blues and roots revivalists Chich and The Soul Messengers will be partnering up with Marrickville small bar The Gasoline Pony for a Saturday arvo residency.

Backed by Simon Morel, Yann Charave and Brad James on respective lead guitar, bass and drums, Chich and the Soul Messengers are back from recording their new EP Dirty Soul just up the road at Leichhardt’s Linear Studios. Recorded live with an emphasis of soul music’s imperfection and beauty, Chich and co will be heading to The Gasoline Pony for the free afternoon shows.

This isn’t the first time the company have paired their bluesy soul music with beer (after a stint with the Batch Brewing Co late last year), but the combination must be working.

The residency will run on the third Saturday of the month (June 20, July 18, August 15, September 19, October 17, November 21, December 19) from 3pm at The Gasoline Pony. For more info see the Chich Music website.
