“We live, then dissolve.” So goes the first lines in ‘Pier O’Clock’, the lush, technicoloured pop track that opens Ocean Times, the second EP from Sydney musician and dance producer Clulow.

A truly multi-talented songwriting force, Clulow bounces between doof anthems (such as ‘The 420 Doof’ which Tone Deaf premiered last year), lush, award-winning film scores, and the type of tropical off-kilter pop that opens Ocean Times.

You may have seen Clulow soundtracking various festivals, warehouses and parties around Sydney during the past few years, or perhaps you have heard his first record The Physics of Demons.

Ocean Times is a much more straight-forward release, a tight pocket of synth-driven pop, dance beats, and heart-on-sleeve proclamations about love and loss which should find love at community radio and triple j.

Listen to ‘Pier O’Clock’ below, and if you like what you hear, check out the entire EP, out now through Surveillance Party.
